Private Advisory

Arrival and departure planning.

The planning window around a move is short — we use it.

What it is

A short window.

The most valuable planning around a move happens before it, not after. Arriving in a new jurisdiction, or leaving one, opens a window in which structures can be put in place, assets can be rebased or realised, and positions can be settled cleanly. Once the move has happened, many of those options quietly close.

We plan both directions of travel — what to settle before you arrive, and what to arrange before you leave — so the transition is orderly and the position on the far side is the one you intended. We work alongside your other advisers so that nothing falls between jurisdictions.

How we advise

Pre-arrival planning

Settling structures, rebasing and clean capital before residence begins.

Pre-departure planning

Arranging disposals, structures and reporting before you cease to be resident.

Timing the move

Choosing the point of arrival or departure to fall the right side of a tax year.

Coordination across borders

Working with advisers in each jurisdiction so nothing is missed in transition.

Important information

The basis on which we advise.

This page is general in nature and does not constitute tax, legal or financial advice. Advice is given only under a formal engagement, on the basis of your specific circumstances.

ORA Black advises on the design, selection and coordination of structures; it does not act as trustee, foundation council member or administrator, and does not hold client assets. Fiduciary, formation and administration services are provided by appropriately licensed and regulated providers. Where regulated financial services are required, these are provided through ORA Black’s partnership with NEBA Private Clients.
